When I come to assemble furniture, the job usually starts the same way: a box is open, the parts are everywhere, and the instructions look much simpler than the real project actually is.
This cabinet assembly in Naples, FL was exactly that kind of job. The customer had a freestanding storage cabinet with doors, drawers, hinges, side panels, legs and a lot of small hardware. It looked like a simple piece of furniture when finished, but during assembly there were many steps where one wrong panel or one uneven hinge could make the cabinet look crooked.
What I Assembled
For this project, I assembled a large storage cabinet from flat-pack parts. The job included building the cabinet frame, attaching the side panels, installing cabinet doors, assembling drawer sections, installing hinges and handles, adjusting the doors and drawers, and checking that the cabinet stood straight and felt solid.
